FedEx Express, a FedEx Corp. subsidiary, announced the launch of a 48,000-sq-ft facility in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). The new FedEx facility will give customers in the free zone greater connectivity to FedEx’s global network.

The express parcel carrier made the announcement during the company’s sponsorship as the official courier of the Dubai Air Show 2011. Earlier this year FedEx launched a B777 Freighter intercontinental flight route from JAFZA, linking North American, the Middle East, India and Europe.
