Delta Connection carriers Atlantic Southeast, SkyWest and Chautauqua Airlines will fly another 45 fifty-seat regional jets under contract with Delta Air Lines under a series of deals that call for delivery of both Embraer and Bombardier airplanes through the end of next year. Wholly owned subsidiary Atlantic Southeast Airlines will convert options on 25 Bombardier CRJ200s to a firm order, while St. George, Utah-based SkyWest takes another seven of the 50-seat Canadian jets for its Salt Lake City operation. Indianapolis-based Chautauqua Airlines, whose still adolescent partnership with Delta has already spawned a fleet of 34 Embraer jets, will take another 13 ERJ-145s, the first of which it expects to arrive this June. ASA and SkyWest each expect their deliveries to start early next year. According to Delta Connection president Fred Buttrell, all the airlines involved have secured long-term financing for the airplanes without the help of upfront cash from Delta Air Lines.
