Last week, Leonardo announced it would deliver an additional two EMS-configured AW119Kx rotorcraft to Life Flight Network of the Pacific Northwest/Intermountain West U.S. before year-end. The two helicopters will bring the EMS provider’s fleet to 21 AW119Kx models. Life Flight Network recently celebrated 20,000 hours of flight time for its fleet, and received a plaque from Leonardo to mark the occasion. Life Flight recorded the milestone within three years of accepting its first AW119Kx, for which the EMS provider was the launch customer.

“The AW119Kx is an excellent helicopter for the environment we operate in and provides clinicians with full-body access to the most critical patients,” said Life Flight Network CEO Michael Griffith. The operator’s helicopters are NVG-capable and are equipped with the most recent EMS interior configurations. The fleet also includes an Leonardo AW109 Power and now has a total of 115 EMS helicopters—a mix of AW119s, AW109s and AW139s—operating in North America.
