After a “stringent multi-vendor review lasting several months,” UK aerospace group Meggitt (Stand AO7) has chosen India-based HCL Technologies’ Engineering and R&D Services division (HCL ERS) to provide it with engineering support for development programs.

“This strategic initiative will help us respond to the current economic environment while successfully positioning us for future growth,” commented Meggitt CEO Terry Twigger.

“Meggitt is focusing on in-house engineering… [but] where we can we will outsource routine engineering activities that do not form the core of what Meggitt does best,” added Bernie Stevens, Meggitt’s group head of engineering transformation. HCL has been involved in software development for the new Boeing 787 airliner development.
