Concorde Battery announced it has received TSO approval for some of its new products, notably its RG-641, the latest addition to its RG series of valve-regulated sealed lead-acid aircraft batteries. Designed specifically to meet demanding turbine engine starting applications, the new battery passed rigorous TSO C-173 testing for duty cycle, electrical performance, temperature extremes, shock/vibration and environmental conditions. The West Covina, Calif.-based company also received TSO approval for its RG-380E/46 battery series which is a direct replacement for the RG-380E/44 battery, providing 10 percent more power at the same weight and dimensions. According to the manufacturer, the new battery will last longer, cause less engine wear, and provide more essential power in the event of an alternator failure, allowing more time to land safely. Concorde stated that revised STCs for the improved battery should be available shortly.

At its booth (No. 2053) this week at EAA AirVenture 2014 in Oshkosh, Wis., the company is hosting a series of meet and greets with some of the luminaries of the aerobatics field, including Patty Wagstaff, Kyle Franklin, Julie Clark, Mike Goulian, Gene Soucy, Teresa Stokes and Skip Stewart.
