Industry personnel announcements.

Charter broker Air Partner has named Vincent Kavanagh UK sales director; Andrea Giora sales executive in Italy; Marcus Hilchenbach product manager in Germany; and Gary Gennari sales representative for the U.S.

Air Charter Service promoted Justin Lancaster to group commercial director. He succeeds Justin Bowman, who was recently named vice-chairman of the company. 

Isabelle Canton joined Universal Aviation’s European team as senior representative for the south of France. She was previously senior representative for flight information services for the South of France/Nice.

Leck Chet Lam was named to succeed Jimmy Lau as managing director of Experia Events, the organizer of the Singapore Airshow. Lam was most recently senior v-p for fleet management and marketing for SIA Engineering but has held various roles with the company since 2000, including v-p of business development, v-p of line maintenance, senior v-p of partnership management and business development and divisional v-p of engineering. Lau, who has led Experia Events since its establishment in 2005, will be retiring.

The International Bureau of Aviation Group named Chris Lennon head of airworthiness and Carl Martin, Ross Armour and Malcolm Hide technical managers.

PremiAir appointed Keith Marshall chief executive. He was previously senior executive v-p with Northrop Grumman, where he worked on the Joint Strike Fighter and the F-16.

Paul Young was named director of operations for Carlsbad, Calif.-based JetSource.

Million Air named Rick Boyce, previously director of aviation infrastructure and services with NetJets, its new director of FBO safety and operations.

UK-based aircraft charter specialist Hunt & Palmer appointed David McDonald director of group sales. Previously he was group sales director for private jets with Air Partner.

Paul Jona joined Cobham Satcom as senior vice president. He was most recently CEO and chairman of The Netherlands-based CoActive Technologies.

Million Air named Rick Boyce director of FBO safety and operations. He was previously director of aviation infrastructure and services at NetJets.

Tony Ciaravino was named sales director of Wyvern. He joined the company from Solairus Aviation, where he was a sales executive.

Robert Randall was promoted to senior sales manager at Universal Avionics.

Melbourne, Fla.-based avionics parts and installation specialist Southeast Aerospace named Darrel Davies regional sales representative for Canada. He was previously a purchasing agent with Heli-One.

Gary Forster, most recently ExecuJet’s FBO manager in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has been named manager of the company’s new FBO in Bali.

Private Jet Management and charter provider Metropolitan Aviation has hired Tony Massinon as director of operations and Justin Harris as director of safety.

Canadian aviation MRO provider Vector Aerospace named Elise Bair Western U.S. regional sales manager at its Helicopter Services North America subsidiary.

UK-based MRO provider Jets named Derick Naude senior sales and commercial representative. He was previously Embraer Executive Aircraft’s customer-support representative for the UK.

Vincent Sandoval joined Circor Aerospace & Defense as group president. He was previously president of TransDigm Group. Chris Reuther was named group v-p of finance for the company. He was previously lead manager of financial planning analysis at Sikorsky Aerospace Services.

Patrick Carter has joined the sales and support staff at Uvalde, Texas-based Sierra Industries. He was previously employed by Rocket Engineering.

Greenwich AeroGroup subsidiary DAC International promoted Julie Westcott to director of programs and products. She was previously program and products sales manager.

Dallas-based RBR Maintenance has hired Travis Roberson as A&P technician.

John Sileter, Duncan Aviation’s v-p of sales, was recently named chairman of Honeywell’s Channel Partner Advisory Board.

Universal Helicopters named Allan Hall director of maintenance.

Comlux The Aviation Group announced four personnel changes. David Edinger was promoted to executive v-p of Comlux Management and also board member of the Comlux Group. He joined Comlux in 2008 as CEO of Comlux America, a position now held by Jim Soleo. Soleo was previously Comlux America’s v-p of operations. Scott Meyer was named COO. Meyer was previously director of engineering and v-p of operations of the completion division. Rob Tomenendal is v-p of sales.

FlightSafety International announced several personnel appointments. Brian Moore was named assistant manager of the company’s Cessna learning center in Wichita. He succeeds Randy Annett, who was promoted to manager of the Tucson, Ariz. learning center. Moore was most recently FlightSafety’s Beechcraft relationship manager. John Cameron joined the company as regional director of business development, commercial simulation. He joined FlightSafety from CAE, where he held a variety of director and senior safety positions and spent the last five years providing leadership and coordination of commercial and business aviation training sales in Europe. Christopher Adams was promoted to senior director of business development, marketing and government. He was previously director of marketing.

George Euler was promoted to interior/paint sales manager for West Star Aviation’s facility in East Alton, Ill. He was previously technical sales manager.

Shanti Lakhan joined GippsAero as marketing manager. She was previously marketing manager of Cirrus Aircraft in Duluth, Minn.

NBAA appointed Greg Voos regional representative for the southeast. A certified aviation manager, Voos spent 17 years at Delta Air Lines as a crew tracking analyst and most recently was aviation office manager for Home Depot.

Spirit Aeronautics named Jerry MacDonald aircraft production supervisor. He was previously employed by Owens Corning, SSK Industries and GE Aircraft Engines.

Keystone Aviation named Scott Tucker business development manager.

Baker Aviation named Tony Molina director of maintenance and Eddie Fincher senior maintenance manager/technical advisor. Molina most recently was an independent maintenance and avionics service provider and previously held avionics and maintenance positions at Hunt Oil and Duncan Aviation. Fincher was most recently a technician for Aeromech and previously held maintenance positions at KC Aviation, Duncan Aviation and Bombardier.

Duncan Aviation named Brian Andrews to the airframe service sales team. Andrews was previously an airframe technician and project manager at the company.

Tom Huismann joined Tradewind International as director of business development.

Mike Minchow, Duncan Aviation’s manager of completions and avionics sales, was elected to the Aircraft Electronics Association board of directors.

Thomas Miller, director of operations and senior vice president of regulatory affairs at Gama Charters, joined the Air Charter Safety Foundation’s board of governors.

Airshow pilot Patty Wagstaff will serve as an ambassador for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. She is a U.S. national aerobatic champion, having earned honors and recognition for flying low-level, envelope-pushing aerial demonstrations.

Andre Pelletier joined Capitale Helicopters as v-p of sales and business development.

Dennis Zalupski joined AerSale as senior v-p and general manager for the materials group. He was most recently president and CEO of Kellstrom Industries.

Marc Warren joined Crowell & Moring, an aviation and administrative law group, as senior counsel. He was previously acting chief counsel of the Federal Aviation Administration.

Awards and Honors

Cutter Aviation received the Aviation Maintenance Technician Employer Recognition Award from the National Air Transportation Association. The award acknowledges companies that understand that a well trained workforce is the key to maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction and a safe workplace.

Theodore Soliday, executive director of the City of Naples Airport Authority, received the Frank G. Brewer Senior Civil Aerospace Memorial Aerospace Award from the Florida Wing of the Civil Air Patrol. The award recognizes support for Civil Air Patrol programs, significance of accomplishments, community involvement and support of aerospace education.

Pete Reynolds, the former head of flight-testing at Bombardier Learjet, was posthumously inducted into the Kansas Aviation Hall of Fame last month. Reynolds, a decorated Air Force pilot during the 1970s, joined Learjet in 1973 and played a major role in the development, testing and certification of every Learjet model for more than 30 years. During his last eight years at Bombardier he was v-p of flight-test and was responsible for all flight-testing on Canadairs, de Havillands and Learjets.

Final Flight

Thomas Comeau, former president of Butler Aviation and founder of T.F. Comeau & Associates, died on March 20. He was 72. Comeau was also formerly chairman of the General Aviation Taskforce of NATA, president of DynAir Fueling, which became Swissport Fueling, and senior vice president of global sales and projects for Swissport USA.
