Rockwell Collins will be offering the Venue HD cabin management system as an aftermarket upgrade for business aircraft. It has now been certified on the new Hawker Beechcraft King Air 350i turboprop twin and Cessna Citation CJ4.

The Venue system offers wide-screen and high-definition displays, intuitive switch and touchscreen controllers, in addition to an onboard data network that includes wired and Wi-Fi options and integration with various broadband services.

In other news, Rockwell Collins is celebrating its 10th year of participation at the EBACE show. Among the many products the company will be exhibiting is the HGS Head-up Guidance System.

A recent study conducted by the Flight Safety Foundation found that head-up guidance system technology, such as the Rockwell Collins HGS, could have prevented or positively influenced 38 percent of all commercial aircraft accidents that occurred over the past 13 years.

The foundation analyzed 983 commercial air carrier, business and corporate airline accidents for the study, which was commissioned by Rockwell Collins. It determined that the benefits of head-up guidance technology would have increased in accidents where the pilot was directly involved, such takeoffs and landings. In such cases, the likelihood of accident prevention with a head-up system increased to 69 percent.

“Head-up guidance system technology is a great safety tool for the prevention of runway excursions, loss of control, and approach and landing accidents,” said Bob Vandel, a foundation fellow and co-author of the study. “This technology provides extremely useful data to the flight deck crew, which allows them to be the pilot they always thought they were.”

Other products on display at the Rockwell Collins booth include the Pro Line Fusion avionics system, the Pro Line 21 integrated display system, Pro Line 4 to
21 upgrades, the Airshow 4000 moving map system, the Tailwind 500/550 system, as well as various service systems.
