Avantext of Conshohocken, Pa., is offering a digital documentation system called TechPubs to provide technical information to the maintenance technician in a flexible, easy-to-use format. “Many maintenance professionals still use microfiche and paper manuals and parts books as their sources of information. Avantext TechPubs are digital documentation that enables more efficient access of maintenance information,” Avantext president Kurt Schoenkopf told AIN. From the software’s homepage mechanics can access parts listings, maintenance manuals, service publications, miscellaneous publications, wiring diagrams and flight manuals. “Rather than sift through numerous pages, mechanics can immediately select the information they need from a table of contents. Unlike other digital services, TechPubs are fully linked, allowing mechanics to click back and forth from parts listings to parts descriptions, to schematics, to maintenance information and so on,” Schoenkopf said. Avantext also has a keyword search feature that enables mechanics to search for specific words, part numbers or a series of words in any document. According to Schoenkopf, all content featured in Avantext TechPubs is developed from the original manufacturer.
