Chad started his writing career at The Avion,&nbsp;the&nbsp;student newspaper at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida, serving as editor-in-chief before graduating with a bachelor's in aeronautical science. After a stint as managing editor at Professional Pilot&nbsp;magazine, he joined&nbsp;AIN in late 1998. Embraer’s plan to increase its business jet portfolio from the 16-seat Legacy 600, currently its only executive jet in service, to six business jets by 2013 continues apace with the expected delivery of Phenom 100 very light jets and Lineage 1000 bizliners later this year, the company said during a pre-Farnborough Air Show briefing in Paris. This will be followed by scheduled first deliveries of the Phenom 300 light jet late next year, Legacy 500s in late 2012 and Legacy 450s in late 2013. In the more immediate term, 10 to 15 Phenom 100s are planned for delivery this year, and 120 to 150 Phenom 100s and 300s are slated to be shipped next year. Legacy 600 sales have reached 140 copies in 23 countries since first delivery in 2002, and 35 are expected to be delivered this year. The first Lineage 1000 goes to Abu Dhabi-based Aamer Abdul Jalil Al Fahim this summer and a second is undergoing completion for an undisclosed customer. Up to six of the bizliners will be delivered next year.
