<p>Vern Raburn, president and CEO of Eclipse Aviation, received the 2004 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Piper General Aviation Award. The head of the Albuquerque, N.M.-based startup developing the Eclipse 500 very light twinjet was honored for “revolutionizing personal air transportation” by “creating the opportunity for low-cost, on-demand, point-to-point travel that will open up tremendous new opportunities for consumers, businesses and aircraft manufacturers.” The Eclipse 500 is scheduled to be certified in the first quarter of 2006.</p>
