The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) and NBAA will recognize aviation safety analyst Robert E. Breiling for his lifetime contributions to the industry, with an award and dinner tonight at the Omni Hotel here.

IBAC chairman Rui de Aquino said Breiling “has provided invaluable safety tools to help the industry clarify its good safety record during times of increased regulatory pressures.” NBAA president and CEO Ed Bolen added, “Robert Breiling has long been a key contributor to NBAA’s safety programs, and we are grateful that he has also provided his considerable expertise internationally.”

Breiling’s company, Robert E. Breiling Associates, analyzes worldwide business aviation accident data. Its 2006 Turbine Aircraft Accident Review contains detailed narrative accounts of more than 420 fixed- and rotary-wing turbine aircraft accidents and incidents reported worldwide. Statistical charts and tables compare specific aircraft and helicopter accident rates per 100,000 flight hours, causal factors, phase of flight and aircraft performance.

Breiling was an NBAA board member from 1973 to 1980.
