Blue Sky Network (Booth No. 3405), a La Jolla, Calif.-based provider of Iridium satellite communication services and equipment, is at Heli-Expo’07 introducing a portable flight-tracking device that it says installs in less than a minute.

The D200MA/MDA works with Blue Sky Network’s Web-based SkyRouter asset management portal for two-way air- to-ground linking and management of transportation vehicles. It enables real-time position reporting with continuous text messaging and short code reporting capabilities.

Approximately the size and weight of a car stereo, the carry-on tracking device fits easily into small cockpits. It can operate for up to 24 hours on a single battery charge.
Jon Gilbert, Blue Sky Network’s president, said, “We believe the D200MA/MDA, with its convenient portable size, is exceptionally well-suited for smaller aircraft such as helicopters.”
