Since diversifying into a sales dealership last year, HelicopterBuyer (Booth No. 2056) has found a new customer base that prefers to deal with a rotorcraft’s owner rather than a succession of sales brokers. President Mark Clancy said that buying aircraft into inventory pays off for both parties.
“There’s no confusion about ownership, location or price because we control all three,” Clancy told HAI Convention News. “All the information a customer needs is right there on our Web site [www.helicopterbuyer.com].
“We bought two low-time EC 135s from Boeing Integrated Defense Systems at Long Beach and have already sold one to American Eurocopter for use as a sales demonstrator,” said Clancy. “The other one–s/n 190–is on static display here at Heli-Expo. On Friday, we sold an AS 350B3 to a Spanish customer, so I’d say we made the right decision.”
Clancy is so convinced he has stopped the brokerage part of his business and now concentrates on purchasing civil turbine helicopters for inventory resale.
