Troutdale, Ore.-based Isolair (Booth No. 2528) plans to unveil its new 4600 Eliminator firefighting system here at Heli-Expo today. The company designed the new equipment, scheduled to hit the market within four to eight weeks, for helicopters generally considered neither medium-weight nor heavy but which fall within the somewhat nebulous category in between. Isolair estimates the cost of the system to range between $100,000 and $250,000, depending on application.
Isolair also plans to promote a newly issued STC for its 4500-206 Broadcaster system for the Bell 206. Expected to cost roughly $40,000, the fix-mounted system incorporates hoppers and blowers to distribute dry material typically used for mosquito control over populated areas. The blowers can use either electric motors or hydraulics, while the gates can adjust for application rates ranging from a half-pound to 100 pounds per acre.
Isolair said it will give a 15-percent discount to anyone placing an order for either product during Heli-Expo.
