Thales UK, part of the Thales Group (Hall 3 Stand C5; Hall 4 Stand C16c), delivered a rear crew synthetic trainer (RCST) to the Sea King Mk 3/3A helicopter training service operated by the company at the Royal Air Force’s St. Mawgan base. The RCST, which complements a Sea King dynamic simulator, is used to train basic and advanced skills to radar operators/winch operators and, when linked with the dynamic simulator, gives training in crew resource management for the entire crew. Average course length is about 16 to 20 hours. Thales UK also provides aircrew training for the Tornado F3 and GR4, Lynx helicopter, Nimrod, Tucano, Jaguar, Tristar, C130 and VC 10.
