Visualization specialist Barco (Belgian Aerospace, Hall 1, Stand A13 and A14), has moved assembly of its 2,000- by 2,000-pixel air traffic control main display panels to Samsung’s sixth LCD production line. Samsung’s enhanced LCD production process will ensure long-term availability and better specifications for its Isis main displays and Isona integrated display stations, Barco said earlier this month.

“Given the very fast evolutions in LCD technology and production efficiency, LCD manufacturers can only guarantee long-term availability and support on the most recent and efficient production lines,” said Frank Timmermans, senior marketing and sales director of Barco’s Air Traffic Management business unit. “We consider the move to LCD production line 6 as our key differentiator to our competitors in the 2,000- by 2,000- pixel LCD market, whose products are still based on second generation technology.”
