Joby and Delta Air Lines have announced a partnership that will provide a further $200 million in capital for the eVTOL aircraft developer. The agreement also covers an initial five-year arrangement for Joby to provide flights in its four-passenger vehicles to carry Delta's customers to and from airports in New York and Los Angeles and potentially in the UK as well.

American Airlines has made an equity investment in Universal Hydrogen as part of its effort to support science-based targets to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2035 and a commitment to achieve net-zero GHG emissions by 2050. American’s investment in Universal Hydrogen comes barely two months after it said it would invest an undisclosed sum in rival hydrogen propulsion system developer ZeroAvia.

Autonomous flight pioneer Xwing brought FutureFlight reporter Hanneke Weitering along for a demonstration flight on the company's self-flying, modified Cessna 208B Grand Caravan. Hydrogen-electric propulsion system developer ZeroAvia now has direct control of HyPoint's turbo-air-cooled, high-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel-cell stacks. The acquisition of HyPoint follows a recent partnership agreement with PowerCell, which is providing low-temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cell stacks for ZeroAvia's plans to convert existing aircraft to hydrogen power in 2025.

Jetstream Aviation Capital has committed to providing $450 million to help Surf Air Mobility develop a supplemental type certificate for hybrid and fully electric powertrains in partnership with MagniX and AeroTec. Jetstream also plans to buy up to 250 hybrid and fully electric powertrains from Surf Air.

Aura Aero says letters of intent for over 330 sales now back its Electric Regional Aircraft, a hybrid-electric airliner for which first deliveries are planned for 2027. In standard airline service, the 19-seater is expected to have a range of 1,000 nm (reducing to 215 nm for all-electric operations) and be able to take off and land on a 600-meter runway.

MintAir partnered with WeMap and the Korean city of Seongnam to develop a 4D map using voxelization techniques. The recent first flight of the Alice nine-passenger aircraft from Moses Lake Airport in Washington marks the start of Eviation’s flight test campaign to prepare the all-electric model for regional airline service. Due to limitations in current battery technology, Eviation has reduced the projected range to 250 from 440 nm (in VFR day conditions). The company also needs more time to complete type certification, and first deliveries are now anticipated in 2027.
